Giulia Spider Normale
The Normale was the standard Giulia Spider: the 1,570 cc twin-cam on a single carburettor, giving around 92 bhp — smoother and less fussy than the smaller Giulietta engine it replaced, with a five-speed gearbox and front disc brakes. A flush bonnet (no scoop) distinguishes it from the Veloce. It is the more docile, usable version, and the more numerous. (Type 101.23 LHD / 101.19 RHD.)

The 1600 twin-cam
The Normale carries the 1,570 cc twin-overhead-camshaft four with a single carburettor, rated at around 92 bhp — the engine that gave the Giulia Spider its extra reach over the 1300 Giulietta spiders it replaced.
Five speeds and front discs
A five-speed gearbox and front disc brakes were the defining mechanical advances of the 101-series Giulia Spider, and both are standard on the Normale.
Pininfarina body
The bodyshell is the Pininfarina open two-seater carried over from the Giulietta Spider, with a flat bonnet on the Normale.
